WICKED TRAVEL
Hiya! We're right now at Wicked Travel, a travel agent. Just booked our last activity in Australia, The Great Ocean Road! Going there for a day trip on fourth of january, wie! It's going to be a long day though from 7 am to 9 pm. But we're used to long days with full of activites. Just a little bit worried if the dinner is inclusive or not. Hahaha! We love food. While i'm writing about food I can tell you about the yummy Almond Custard Bun I tried today after the breakfast at Breadtop nearby our hostel. Sooo good, they have loads of different pastries. Looking forward to my next visit, maybe tomorrow? Hehehe.
Today we have been to The Rocks Discovery Museum. Pretty interesting! The funny thing was that on the breakfast we planned to have a full day with visiting museums. Instead our first museum visit began like one o'clock. Because we went to some stores and did some spontanious shopping. I bought a Australian jumper for a good price and we also bought a christmas gift to each other... the same Australian bracelet just with different colours. Mine is red and Malin is pink. It's a charmbracelet with the australian flag, the country, koala and flip-flops! So cute. After the museum we walked to the observatory, good view and also interesting information about the stars, planets etc. Oh I forgot, we also walked on the Harbour Bridge before the museum. We didn't plan it but suddenly we were on the bridge and walked to the other side of the bridge. Beautiful view and a good walk but windy!
Only eleven days until we leave Australia and heading to Bali! Time is running so fast. Well what do they say.. time goes by fast when you're having fun.
Love,
Maria.

Leaving Byron Bay
I had a problem uploading photos on the blog. There is a lot of photos on Facebook right now if you haven't see them! I will maybe try to upload photos here again later. Tonight (23.55) we're leaving Byron Bay. It actually feels a little bit sad, we've really enjoyed it here! I think we both agree that this is our favourite place in Australia (so far). It's been so nice to just relax and have somewhere that is almost like a home. We're taking the night bus (saving one night accomodation) and arriving in Port Macquarie at 6 AM tomorrow morning. We/re spending two nights there. One day we're going to visit the Koala Hospital which is situated there. On friday we head to our last stop before Sydney, Newcastle. And then on Saturday around lunchtime we arrive in Sydney.
Hugs!

Still in Byron Bay
NOOSA
Wow, it's raining A LOT here in Noosa. It's so funny because there was a power failure at the hostel today when we arrived and decided to make lunch. It wasn't even raining that much. In Sweden that only happens if the storm is coming. Well well, I like the city anyway. We have just been to the supermarket IGA. Malin took the courtney bus at one o'clock and I'm going to take the other one in one hour. I have my poncho, phew! But it's still not so tempting going out in the rain, sometimes it looks like it's a waterfall outside. Well even though it's raining, everyone is so happy and smiling to you in the rain. :) Oh, Australia! ♥
Rain weather makes you wanna cuddle in bed; watching a movie and eating snacks. You know what? Maybe we will do that! We have a good movie waiting for us in Malins ipod: Crazy, Stupid, Love! :)

KAYAKING
Hello everyone! Today we're going to do a sunset tour with kayaks. Really looking forward to it. We are right now at a travel agent and have planned like two weeks accommodation. Feels good! It's not as spontaneous but that's because many hostels like in Byron Bay and Surfers Paradise are getting full-booked. So it's better that we get somewhere to stay than sleeping on the beach. Especially when the insects really love me. But it's getting better! (I hope.) They are all so friendly here in Australia. Like we walked by a cafe where the owner sat by the table and saw my legs and said "come over here, let me look at your legs" and he said that it was sandflies. He told another lady that is working there to fill a plastic jar with vinegar. Awww, so sweet! I am thinking about maybe getting something yummy like a cupcake from the cafe, my way to say thanks and getting something delicious in my stomach. Hihi!
Mwah!

Great Barrier Reef
Today we've been away all day snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef.(Actually we were supposed to do it yesterday but it was cancelled because some problem with the engine.) On the way out to the Reef we both felt so seasick! It was impossible to sit inside the boat, you had to be outside so you could look at the horizon and feel the wind in your face.
When we bought our ticket for the trip we got a free introduction dive too. With tubes, wetsuites and everything. I couldn't handle it and kind of panicked when I got in the water. I felt that I had no control at all and went back on the boat. After taken a deep breath I tried again but the same with happened. So I did not do it. Maybe I'll regret it later but I thought that it was really scary. Maria, however, managed well! The instructor even asked if she had dived before. The snorkeling was enough for me. You could see all the corals and fishes anyway.
Tonight the crew of the ship invited everyone to the Woolshed for free pizza and beer. That's what we hoped we heard! The Woolshed is also the place where we get our free meal from the hostel. So we will be there anyway! Hopefully going home with two meals in our stomach :)
The Holland guys Tim and Sjoerd who we met in NZ arrived here a couple of days ago. However, tomorrow Maria and I are leaving Cairns for Mission Beach and they are staying here to take their divinglicence. But we think we'll probably meet them soon again.
Keep sending your comments!

Cairns
Today I haven't seen Maria since breakfast. She did her thing Today and I did mine. Soon we are meeting up for dinner, looking forward to hear what she's been up to! Before lunch Today I walked around town and bought new earphones for my iPod! So now I can skype with it :) we've found free internet so just tell me if you would like to talk to me some day! I spent the afternoon by the lagoon reading my book and later I took a powerwalk on the beautiful boardwalk! :) in an hour it's time for our free dinner! Our hostel pays for it! The best thing about it actually, it's not as nice as the hostels in NZ. But cheap! However, we can choose between four different dishes. Yesterday we both had chilli con carne. Today I'll maybe try the vegetarian pasta... I miss you all! Love, Malin
