Happy New Years!

WICKED TRAVEL

Hiya! We're right now at Wicked Travel, a travel agent. Just booked our last activity in Australia, The Great Ocean Road! Going there for a day trip on fourth of january, wie! It's going to be a long day though from 7 am to 9 pm. But we're used to long days with full of activites. Just a little bit worried if the dinner is inclusive or not. Hahaha! We love food. While i'm writing about food I can tell you about the yummy Almond Custard Bun I tried today after the breakfast at Breadtop nearby our hostel. Sooo good, they have loads of different pastries. Looking forward to my next visit, maybe tomorrow? Hehehe.

Today we have been to The Rocks Discovery Museum. Pretty interesting! The funny thing was that on the breakfast we planned to have a full day with visiting museums. Instead our first museum visit began like one o'clock. Because we went to some stores and did some spontanious shopping. I bought a Australian jumper for a good price and we also bought a christmas gift to each other... the same Australian bracelet just with different colours. Mine is red and Malin is pink. It's a charmbracelet with the australian flag, the country, koala and flip-flops! So cute. After the museum we walked to the observatory, good view and also interesting information about the stars, planets etc. Oh I forgot, we also walked on the Harbour Bridge before the museum. We didn't plan it but suddenly we were on the bridge and walked to the other side of the bridge. Beautiful view and a good walk but windy!

Only eleven days until we leave Australia and heading to Bali! Time is running so fast. Well what do they say.. time goes by fast when you're having fun.

Love,
Maria.

Boxing Day

Yesterday we saw the harbour bridge and the opera house. We also checked out a place where we want to stand during the fireworks on Christmas Eve. From there you can see both the bridge and the harbour, that's going to be really beautiful we think! However, we're going to have to spend the whole day at that spot. But we think it's going to be a nice experience that too. Bring som picnic and sit on the grass with lots of other crazy people. Today it's Boxing Day and a big big sale! Soooo much people! It's funny because yesterday everything was closed and the streets were almost empty. I baught a new handbag :) My other one broke in Cairns already. Backpack on New Years Eve doesen't seem like a good idea. And I really like it! Maria baught her New Years Eve dress. She look so good in it! So sofisticated! Miss you all! Was nice talking to the family on skype on Christmas. It almost felt like I was sitting in the sofa with you. Hugs and Kisses Malin

Christmas Eve

This Christmas Eve is coming to an end. We arrived in Sydney Today. And after checking in we took the train to Ikea where we had our Christmas lunch. 15 meatballs and two kanelbullar! Yummy :) I also bought lingonsylt for my oats. Later this evening their was à Christmas buffé at à restuarant NeXT to our hostel. It was free when you bought a drink. We're ending this diferent Christmas Eve with an ice cream at Mcdonalds. Tomorrow starts the big discovery if the town! Miss you all more Today! Kisses Malin

Leaving Byron Bay

I had a problem uploading photos on the blog. There is a lot of photos on Facebook right now if you haven't see them! I will maybe try to upload photos here again later. Tonight (23.55) we're leaving Byron Bay. It actually feels a little bit sad, we've really enjoyed it here! I think we both agree that this is our favourite place in Australia (so far). It's been so nice to just relax and have somewhere that is almost like a home. We're taking the night bus (saving one night accomodation) and arriving in Port Macquarie at 6 AM tomorrow morning. We/re spending two nights there. One day we're going to visit the Koala Hospital which is situated there. On friday we head to our last stop before Sydney, Newcastle. And then on Saturday around lunchtime we arrive in Sydney. Hugs! Malin

Still in Byron Bay

Byron bay

It realy is wetseason here! We had a couple of sunny days but now it's raining again. however, it was okey during the day. I went for a walk to Byron Bays lighthouse and Australias most easterly point. A very nice walk through the rainforest. We're staying here for four nights. It's nice to not have to pack your backpack everyday :) kisses Malin

Brisbane

Surfing with Manuell

Starbucks

Moololoba

This morning we left Noosa for Moololoba. This city is full of all kinds of people. Some backpackers, but mostly families and older couples on holiday. After eating our oats for dinner we whent to Starbucks on the boardwalk and had a frapuccino! Mmmm...yummy! Tomorrow we're visiting stewe Irwins Australia Zoo. And in the evening there is a free barbeque at our hostel! How are you?! Kisses malin

NOOSA

Wow, it's raining A LOT here in Noosa. It's so funny because there was a power failure at the hostel today when we arrived and decided to make lunch. It wasn't even raining that much. In Sweden that only happens if the storm is coming. Well well, I like the city anyway. We have just been to the supermarket IGA. Malin took the courtney bus at one o'clock and I'm going to take the other one in one hour. I have my poncho, phew! But it's still not so tempting going out in the rain, sometimes it looks like it's a waterfall outside. Well even though it's raining, everyone is so happy and smiling to you in the rain. :) Oh, Australia! ♥

Rain weather makes you wanna cuddle in bed; watching a movie and eating snacks. You know what? Maybe we will do that! We have a good movie waiting for us in Malins ipod: Crazy, Stupid, Love! :)

Mwah!

Rainbow Beach

Today we arrived in Rainbow Beach. From here were going to Fraser Island tomorrow. We had an information meeting today and met our group. Maria and I are going in the same car as the guide. Everybody has told us that you have to be 21 to drive car. But today we learned that you just have to be over 18 and have 12 months of driving experience. That means that I'm able to drive. I don't know if I want to! It was easier when I knew that I didn't have the option. This is probably the only time on Fraser Island and I should take the chance to drive. Maybe I'll regret it otherwise? But it seems so hard! And driving isn't my favorite thing in the world. I easily get very stressed when something goes wrong. So we will see! Maybe I can just test it. So tomorrow at 7.30 we leave our hostel in 4 jeeps and head for the worlds biggest sandisland. We're going to be there for three days and two nights. With now toilets and showers. But with Dingos and sandflies! Kisses Malin

Hervey Bay

Yesterday we spent the day in Bundaberg. During the evening there was a christmas market and a parade. It's hard to get that it's soon christmas when it's 30 degrees outside. This morning we left Bundaberg for Hervey Bay. The weather today has been cloudy and a bit rainy actually. I kind if like it! The hostel is nice and we have free internet here. Maria walked into town a couple of hours ago. I've spent most if the day reading. I think i finished my sixth or maybe seventh book Today. I also went for a walk on the beach and then did some situps and pushups for the first time this trip. It felt good! So as I said we have free internet here if you want to chat or skype!
