KAYAKING

Hello everyone! Today we're going to do a sunset tour with kayaks. Really looking forward to it. We are right now at a travel agent and have planned like two weeks accommodation. Feels good! It's not as spontaneous but that's because many hostels like in Byron Bay and Surfers Paradise are getting full-booked. So it's better that we get somewhere to stay than sleeping on the beach. Especially when the insects really love me. But it's getting better! (I hope.) They are all so friendly here in Australia. Like we walked by a cafe where the owner sat by the table and saw my legs and said "come over here, let me look at your legs" and he said that it was sandflies. He told another lady that is working there to fill a plastic jar with vinegar. Awww, so sweet! I am thinking about maybe getting something yummy like a cupcake from the cafe, my way to say thanks and getting something delicious in my stomach. Hihi!

Mwah!

Emu park was really great! The hostel was fantastic :) à four bed dorm that was just like à hotelroom. And so clean! We had à balcony with à view of the pool. Nice and calm place! Today we arrived in Agnes water, also à small beachtown. Maybe we Will try surfing when we are here! Kiss Malin

Forsta advent

Hur firar ni??

Airlie Beach to Emus Park

Today we're leaving Airlie Beach and heading down to Emus Park close to Rockhampton. First we thought of staying one night in Mackay but the only hostel in town had no vacancy. Emus Beach Resort where we're staying seems realy nice and we only pay 24 dollars for two nights. The sailing in Whitsundays was really nice. Maybe the boat was a little bit too party for us... But we got to see lots of beautiful places like Whithaven beach. Glad forsta advent! Malin

INSECTS

Magnetic Island

A picture that Maria took on Magnetic Island an early morning!

Airlie Beach

Great Barrier Reef

Today we've been away all day snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef.(Actually we were supposed to do it yesterday but it was cancelled because some problem with the engine.) On the way out to the Reef we both felt so seasick! It was impossible to sit inside the boat, you had to be outside so you could look at the horizon and feel the wind in your face. When we bought our ticket for the trip we got a free introduction dive too. With tubes, wetsuites and everything. I couldn't handle it and kind of panicked when I got in the water. I felt that I had no control at all and went back on the boat. After taken a deep breath I tried again but the same with happened. So I did not do it. Maybe I'll regret it later but I thought that it was really scary. Maria, however, managed well! The instructor even asked if she had dived before. The snorkeling was enough for me. You could see all the corals and fishes anyway. Tonight the crew of the ship invited everyone to the Woolshed for free pizza and beer. That's what we hoped we heard! The Woolshed is also the place where we get our free meal from the hostel. So we will be there anyway! Hopefully going home with two meals in our stomach :) The Holland guys Tim and Sjoerd who we met in NZ arrived here a couple of days ago. However, tomorrow Maria and I are leaving Cairns for Mission Beach and they are staying here to take their divinglicence. But we think we'll probably meet them soon again. Keep sending your comments! Love Malin

Cairns

Today I haven't seen Maria since breakfast. She did her thing Today and I did mine. Soon we are meeting up for dinner, looking forward to hear what she's been up to! Before lunch Today I walked around town and bought new earphones for my iPod! So now I can skype with it :) we've found free internet so just tell me if you would like to talk to me some day! I spent the afternoon by the lagoon reading my book and later I took a powerwalk on the beautiful boardwalk! :) in an hour it's time for our free dinner! Our hostel pays for it! The best thing about it actually, it's not as nice as the hostels in NZ. But cheap! However, we can choose between four different dishes. Yesterday we both had chilli con carne. Today I'll maybe try the vegetarian pasta... I miss you all! Love, Malin

Cairns

Chistchurch

What a city! The city centre is closed because of the earthquake earlier this year. 15 years they say it's going to rake to rebuild the city again... This our last day in Nz, tomorrow we're heading for Cairns. Looking forward to finally packing down my leggins and sweatshirt! We miss you all! Liked reading your comments, keep updating us about what's going on at home! Love, malin

Mt Cook

It's snowing today. Crazy! And just today we're supposed to visit NZ highest mountain Mt Cook. Right now I'm at the hotel in the Valley close to the mountain, but I can't even see it... I'm not planning to go outside until the driver comes and pick us up again. Maria is a bit tougher and just went out in the awful weather to try and get a climpse of the mountain. I'm instead going to watch a movie in a few minutes about blackholes. And then have one more hot chocolate before it's time to get back to our hostel. This morning the bus left with our friends. Maria and I are staying in Lake Tekapo until monday. Our hostel had a wonderful view over the lake! On monday the bus is picking us up again and we're going to stay our last two days in NZ in Christchurch! The crazy thing that I was supposed to do was cancelled becauce of bad weather! Maybe I'll do it in Australia instead! We'll see :) Hugs and Kisses Malin

Dunedin

On our last day in Queenstown me and Maria walked for several hours and later rewarded ourselves with the most delicious ice cream and a huge and very tasty hamburger! Today we continued with our eating as we arrived to Dunedin and went on a tour in the chocolate factory and got lots of different kinds of candy! We feel sad that we're soon splitting up from our group as everyone soon are going to different places. Tomorrow is our last night with the whole gang... You really get know each other so well when you've done almost everything together. I hope you all are doing great at home! Please leave a comment and tell us what's going on at home :) Hugs and kisses! Malin
